Grant for the support of innovative and excellent research plans for young researchers. Previous Positions: From 1st January 2011 to 30th September 2011, full-time research assistant in the department of Information Technology and Mathematical Methods of the University of Bergamo. From 1st February 2008 to 31st December 2010, full-time post-doctoral research assistant at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, on the EXTREMES project. Education: 18th April 2008, Doctor of Philosophy in Statistical Sciences from the PhD school in Statistical Sciences of the Department of Statistics, University of Padua. The thesis topic focused on statistical methods for extreme data, with the title: Computational Methods for Complex Problems in Extreme Value Theory, under the supervision of Professor Stuart Coles. 28th June 2004, Bachelor of Statistics from the Department of Statistics, University of Padua. The thesis topic focused on the simulation of the facilities of an airport terminal, with the title: LANDSIM: A Discrete Events Model for the simulation of the Airport Terminal, under the supervision of Professor Giovanni Andreatta . Awards: 19th August 2007, Best Student Presentation Award, first prize. Conference TIES 2007, The International Environmetrics Society. August 16–20, Mikulov, Czech Republic.
