Research – Ugo Trivellato

The main research interests are: Programme evaluation; Modelling of labour supply and unemployment; Structural equation models with measurement errors.

From 1997 to 2005 he has been project leader of four research projects on worker mobility and programme evaluation of labour market policies, supported by grants from the Italian Ministry of University and Scientific Research (MURST) under the PRIN programme.

Presently, he is member of the Management and Methods Coordinating Committee of the project “Post-secondary vocarional training courses: Are they effective for Italian unemployed youth with high school diploma?” (European Commission, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, VP/2013/005).

Senior research fellow at IRVAPP, CESifo research fellow, IZA research fellow, member of the Istituto Veneto di Scienze Lettere ed Arti, member of the Scientific Committee of the Ermanno Gorrieri Foundation for Social Studies.

Member of the Istat’s Scientific Commission on the measurement of well-being (April 2011- ), ~~and~~ of the Scientific Advisory Board of the project “Data without Boundaries (FP7-13)” (May 2011- )., of the Scientific Committee of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies for guidelines on methods and procedures to monitor the reform of the labour market (May 2013- ).

Previously, he has done substantial work on two other topics: Data revisions and dynamic economic modelling; Markovian models of the educational process and determinants of student achievement.

He has written or edited (with others) some ten books, among which Generazioni disuguali.
